How we handle personal data. Last reviewed 13 August 2026.
Who we are
Thechurchillshop Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17127204. Registered office: 113 Churchill Avenue, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP21 8ER, United Kingdom.
We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. If you have a question about how we use your data, email thechurchillshop@gmail.com.
What we collect
We collect personal data that you give us directly, through:
- The trade account application form — business name, company number, business type, website, your name, position, business email, phone number, the categories you buy in, expected order value and any message you add.
- The contact form — your name, company name, business email, phone number, enquiry type and your message.
- Direct correspondence — anything you send us by email or tell us by phone.
This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not run any code that follows you to other sites.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To assess a trade account application — necessary for taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To answer an enquiry — our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
- To supply goods and administer your account — necessary for the performance of our contract with you.
- To meet legal obligations — including keeping accounting and tax records.
We do not send marketing to people who have not asked for it. If we ever do introduce a trade mailing list, it will be opt-in and you will be able to unsubscribe from every message.
Verification checks
As part of assessing a trade account application, we may check the details you give us against the public Companies House register and other publicly available business sources. We do this to confirm the business exists and that you are connected to it. It is not a credit check and it does not affect your credit file.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only where necessary with:
- Our email and IT service providers, who process it on our instructions
- Carriers and couriers, where a delivery address is needed to fulfil an order
- Our accountants, and HMRC where the law requires it
- Professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement where we are legally obliged to
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become accounts — up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Trade account applications that are declined — up to 12 months, so we can explain the decision if you ask.
- Active account and order records — for the life of the account and then six years after the end of the relevant financial year, to meet UK accounting requirements.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate
- Ask us to delete data where we no longer need it
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing
- Ask us to transfer your data to another provider
Email thechurchillshop@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
This site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Access to enquiry and account data is limited to the people in the business who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not collect payment card details through this website at all, which removes the most sensitive category of data from the equation.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the review date at the top. This version was last reviewed on 13 August 2026.
